WHO IS YAHWEH?

1. Who Yahweh is as he appears in the bible Without an understanding of who the God of the bible is we have no true faith. If we do not know this truth from God himself we have a god of our own making. TS

2. What is important to God? Hosea 6 : 6 ‘For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the Knowledge of God rather than burnt offering.’ but like Adam they have transgressed the covenant; God wants most of all that we learn to know Him.

4. The Suffering Servant

6. The first fact we need to know is that the Bible tells us that God revealed himself to us ,we can not find Him on our own investigation.

7. Up until the time Moses heard from God in the burning bush, Mankind did not know the full meaning of Gods name as Yahweh.

8. Exodus 6:3 says; …I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name Lord (literally Yahweh= ‘I am who I am’ or just “I am”.) I did not make Myself known to them. This is YHWH the sacred letters.

10. God met him in the burning bush.

11. Exodus 3:14-15

12. 14God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

14. This first translation was called the Septuagint and was used by the Early Church. Therefore Lord was used in the New Testament to mean the real name of God Yahweh also. This was done in the same way as the Greek Old Testament by leaving off “the” before Lord. In the concepts of the new testament writers they understood the word “ lord” to be ‘Yahweh” when quoting the Old Testament.

17. 6Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, "Hallelujah! For Yahweh our God, the Almighty, reigns.

19. 5"For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is Yahweh of armies; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.

20. Colossians 1:16-17

21. 16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him.

23. I even I am YAHWEH and there is no savior besides Me

25. That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. They will say of Me , Only in YAHWEH are righteousness and strength.

26. Men will come to Him,

27. And all who were angry at Him shall be put to shame.

28. In YAHWEH all the offspring of Israel will be justified ,and will glory.(Romans 14:11 Phil 2:10 -11 )

30. 7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

34. 1 Cor. 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord,(Yahweh)" except by the Holy Spirit.

35. (Lord here is without the article meaning it stands for Yahweh as that is what was done in the LXX Septuagint version they used in the NT)

36. 2 Cor. 4:5 ‘we preach… Christ Jesus as Lord (Yahweh).’Romans 10:9 “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Yahweh…you shall be saved.”

38. Who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,….therefore God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, ( direct quote from Isaiah 45:23 which is YAHWEH speaking of Himself)…and that every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is YAHWEH, to the glory of God the Father.

41. Then the moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed, For Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, And His glory will be before His elders.

44. 5You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzi king of Judah ThenYahweh, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him! (Matt.25:31)

46. 8"In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the messenger of Yahweh before them.

47. 9"And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

48. 10"I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look onMewhom they have pierced; and they will mourn forHim, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

50. 9And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be the only one, and His name the only one.

54. We should now have an understanding of what that name is. Fatheris not a name it is a title. Sonis not a name it is also a title. Holy Spirit is not a name either, for John gives us the only name which is “One called along side”, the ‘Paracletos’ or Helper.

55. I am a father, a brother, and an uncle but that is not my name.

58. It is my belief that the early church used this name in Baptism.

59. Acts 2:38 …Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins…

60. Acts 8:16 …they had simply been baptized in

61. the name of the Lord Jesus.

62. Note they were using Yahshua not Jesus to Jewish followers.

63. Acts 10:48 …and he ordered them to be baptized in thename of Jesus Christ…

64. Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

65. I suggest a formula for baptism could be in English; “ I baptize you in the name of Jesus into Christ who is YAHWEH the father, son and holy spirit.”

67. 3. A simple reading of the Old Testament where these things are quoted from shows this to be the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

68. 4.To be a Christian you must believe Jesus is Lord (Yahweh).

69. 5.Baptism in the Early Church was using a name not a title.

70. 6.Yahweh is the one returning for his church as judge not as savior which is Jesus.

The name of God review Exodus 3:14-15 14God said to Moses,"I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" 15God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘ Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you ' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.

73. God’s self revealed name is Yahweh from the four letters called the sacred tetragrammaton These letters without vowels give us the name of God Yahweh, with vowels. His name means, ‘the God who, was , is and will be.” His name was considered so sacred that the Jews stopped pronouncing it. Then stopped writing it and changing it in the first translation into Greek about 300 years before Christ to LORD in Greek. When they did this they left off the article ‘the’ so that all would know it was the sacred name.

74. The early church used this Greek old testament bible called the Septuagint. As Christianity spread into the gentile world the common universal language of the day was Greek. It was therefore natural to write in Greek as did Paul. The Old Testament was also in Greek that the gentiles used so therefore they were using their language of the common usage.

75. When Paul or Luke wrote in Greek they gave the Hebrew word and or the Greek equivalent. This is done in Acts telling us ‘Paul’ is the Greek equivalent for ‘Saul’ in Hebrew. Some would tell us that the New Testament was first written in Hebrew or Aramaic. As much as they would like to have us believe that, our oldest manuscripts are only in Greek and we only have fragments that are in Greek. Anything else is false speculation. It is likely Matthew and Mark wrote their gospels in Aramaic since Mark went east into Assyria which was an Aramaic speaking country. Aramaic is the language that the Jews had from living in Babylon.

76. The name ‘Jesus’ First of all it should be noted that in the English language the letter ‘J’ did not appear until around 500 years ago. Both the Hebrew and the Greek have no ‘J’ sound like English. ‘I’ was the letter used and ‘Yuh’ sound would have been used as most European languages of this day for the letter ‘J’ when it was first used.

77. Early English words for Jesus Note in the original 1611 version of the King James Version of the Bible there was no “J” letter in this Bible, because it did not exist. James was spelled Iames. Jesus was spelled Iesous.

Here is the way Jesus came down to us through the translations Webster’s New World Dictionary confirms the Oxford World Dictionary, but it shows the derivation of “Jesus” correctly transliterated in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew using the letters “I” and “Y,” showing that there was no J used in these original languages when the scriptures were translated into them. “In Late Latin Jesus was originally spelled Iesus; In Greek it was spelled Ièsous; and in ancient Hebrew spelled “yÈshÙa,” which is a contraction of yehÖshÙa(Joshua), help of Jehovah < yÀh, Jehovah + hÖshïa, to help.”

79. New Testament writers used ‘Iesous’ because it was the same in meaning as ‘Yahshua’ “Yahshua” spelled many different ways, ties together the Hebrew ‘YAHWEH’ the sacred name of God, with “Yah’ short form, meaning ‘Yahweh is our salvation. ‘ This is important to understand in that when we know his name is ‘Yahshua’ (Jesus that is) we understand it is a derivative of ‘Yahweh’.

80. Since Jesus as a name, was not invented yet. Mary spoke Hebrew, it is logical that the angel gave Jesus his Hebrew name ‘Yahshua’. Matthew 1:21 behold, an angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21"She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, (Yahshua)for He will save His people from their sins." (Lk. 1:27), (Luke 1:30-31).” (Note the Father of Jesus was the Holy Spirit of Yahweh.)

81. In Paul’s conversion story he clearly says Jesus spoke to him in Hebrew. Again he would have said that he was ‘Yahshua’. Acts 26:14-15 "And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' 15"And I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.

82. God is not confused by translations of his name into different languages Luke 23:38-39 Now there was also an inscription above Him, "THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS." This was written in three languages of the day, Hebrew, Latin and Greek.

83. Does the name mater? Lk.2:21And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus,( we know that Jesus would not be the name but Yahshua) the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.

84. Does John mean a name has power or the person referred to has the power? Jh.20:30 Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

85. Healings done in his name in any language prove it is the person of Jesus, Yahshua, etc. that is meant Acts 3:16 "And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all. Acts 4:10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ (literally ‘YahshauHamashia) the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

86. What language did the early church use? The answer is the language of the people to whom they ministered. Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike. 16For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. I would think that Paul and others in the early church used the language of the people of that day. They did baptize them in the name of Jesus if they were Greek speaking, or Latin speaking. They would only use “Yahshua’ if they were Hebrew speaking.

87. What is this importance for us? People have been saved using the name of Jesus down through the centuries. Although it is okay to use the name ‘Yahshua’ it is more important that we know who Jesus is. If you understand that Jesus is Yahweh our saviour, then He stands ready to save us. If you wish to use ‘Yahshua’ in place of Jesus, that is not wrong either as long as you don’t condemn those who do not follow your concepts. ( Some are adding that the name of Jesus is a pagan name. This is false teaching. It does not mean ‘hail Zeus’ it did not originate from Constantine. The writers of our New Testament used the Greek equivalent 200 years earlier, therefore these claims are totally false. ) Names and words are not Magic formulas. It is important that we know Jesus (Yahshua) the author and finisher of our faith.

88. Words we use that have not been totally translated but we should recognize their meaning. Yahweh=Name of our God in the Bible Halleluyah=Praise be to “Yah’. Amen= so be it Angel = Messenger Host= Armies Almighty = again often translated from armies or all powerful Jesus= Yahweh our saviour, Yahshua in Hebrew (some spelling is Yehshua Yahushua etc.

89. We will have the name Yahweh on our foreheads not Jesus. Zechariah 14:9 And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be the only one, and His name the only one. Rev.22:4they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. Jh.5:43"I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him. Yahshua is Yahweh therefore when he comes back Yahweh’s name will be on our foreheads.

90. What is the name above every name? Yahweh Phil.2:9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of JesusEVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,(Yahweh) to the glory of God the Father. Since Jesus has been given the name of Yahweh and Isa.45:23 says every knee bows to Yahweh then the confession in verse 11 will be that every tongue confesses that Jesus is Yahweh.

91. What is the Plan of God for the future? One thing is for sure, there is great differences of opinion on this subject. I am dealing here with the scriptures of the Old Testament mostly and how they relate to this subject.

92. The theme of God’s goal is, that the world should know who he is and worship Him Ps. 86:9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Yahweh, And they shall glorify Your name. Psalm 102:15-17 So the nations will fear the name of Yahweh And all the kings of the earth Your glory.

93. This is traditionally called the Millennial reign of Christ God's Universal Reign Isa.2: 1The word which Isaiah the son of Amos saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of Yahweh Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. 3And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh,

94. Jesus as Yahweh will reign over all the nations of the earth from Jerusalem To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem. 4And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war.

95. There will be a protection from our atmosphere for some reason Isa. 4:5then Yahweh will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.

96. It was easy for the Jews to misinterpret the first coming as the second one Isaiah 9:6-7 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us, And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness. From then on and forevermore The zeal of Yahweh of armies will accomplish this.

97. See the detail of the words. ‘Perishing’, ‘trumpet’! Isa. 27:13 It will come about also in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship Yahweh in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

98. This is a consistent prophetic message Isa. 40:5Then the glory of Yahweh will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of Yahweh has spoken." Rev.1:7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. Zech.14:5 ‘…Then Yahweh , my God will come, and all the holy ones (saints) with Him.

99. This sounds like the same event Matthew 24:29-31 29"But immediately after the tribulation of those days the SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from (I)the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

100. Jesus is coming to set up a Kingdom to show mankind his rule and explain who he is. Daniel 7:13-14 "I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven. One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days. And was presented before Him. "And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, Thatall the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.

101. All the earth will see it. There is no secret coming Isa. 40:10Behold, Yahweh GOD will come with might, With His arm ruling for Him Behold, His reward is with Him. Jesus is the “Arm’ of Yahweh. Isa.53:1, 59:16,17 40:5-10.

The nations will see him and come into willful submission Isa.45:22"Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. 23"I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear. Rom.14:11, Phil.2:10

103. One of the purposes is to show the world that Jesus really is Yahweh Isa. 49:26. ..And all flesh will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." 54:5"For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is Yahweh of armies; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,

104. There will be a great conversion of Jewish people at his coming Zechariah 12:8-10 "In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the messenger of Yahweh before them. "And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. "I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

105. Jesus is Yahweh in visible form as a human person (he is all you will ever see of God) Isa.63: 8For He said, "Surely, they are My people, Sons who will not deal falsely " So He became their Savior. 60:16…Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

106. His coming is proceeded by earth upheavals Isa.26:9 …For when the earth experiences Your judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. Lk.21:25"There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

107. There will be a mighty battle on Christ’s return in the middle east Zech.12:8"In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the messenger of Yahweh before them. 9"And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

108. There will be a celebration wedding feast for those who believed in Who he was and what he did for us making him lord. Isa. 25:6 Yahweh of armies will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine. And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all people. Even the veil which is stretched over all nations. He will swallow up death for all time, And Yahweh GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For Yahweh has spoken. And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us This is Yahweh for whom we have waited;

109. A new world will appear with the rule of Yahweh, (Yeshua, Jesus) as king. Isaiah 11:6-9 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them. Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox. The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh As the waters cover the sea.

110. Theophany's in the bible and what it means The average Christian knows almost nothing about the appearances of God in the Old Testament. Why? This has to be important to our understanding of God. My goal is to enlighten and challenge us all to think new thoughts on this important issue

111. What is a theophany ? A theophany is defined as an appearance of God in the form of a man before the incarnation, where He became a true human in a more permanent way in the form of Jesus the Messiah. For this he had to give up something of his Godness. Phil. 2:6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

112. The earliest record of man and God is that physical appearances where normal Gen.3: 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man, “Where are you?”

One was Yahweh and two others were angels Genesis 18:1 Yahweh appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before Yahweh. 19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening

114. Who is involve in the test of Abraham? Abraham Tested Gen.22:1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

It is obvious by use of ‘ME’ that the angel was Yahweh himself Gen.22:10Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11But the angel (messenger)of Yahweh called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." 12He said, "Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me."

116. Jacob wrestles with God not an angel with wings Gen.32:24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. So Jacob called the place Peniel,[b] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”

117. Moses first meets God who will become his friend Exodus 3:2-6 There the angel of Yahweh appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”

118. Now it got more personal with Yahweh Ex.33:11Yahweh would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.

119. This was a moment very special in the life of Moses. Exodus 33: 21 Then Yahweh said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.” ‘The word back can as easily be rendered the aftereffects of the glory that had passed by. This would fit the context as well as the range of meanings for the Hebrew word used. Moses did not see the glory of God directly, but once it had gone past, God did allow him to view the results, the afterglow, that his presence had produced.’ Walter C. 120. This was a spectacular experience never to forget you would think Exodus 24:9-11 Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and theysaw God, and they ate and drank.

121. Joshua’s encounter with Yahweh as captain of the Armies Josh 5:13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. This group includes Trinitarians who see Jesus separate from the Father, JW’s who are Arian see him as a created being from God, whom they believed turned into God’s deputy. 2. God came himself. It is believed that Jesus is the extension of God as part of himself and that he came in human form. That God is one united person not divided. 159. Questions people have? Voices speaking and a dove is not signs of three persons. Jesus was a man at the time. Since the bible is clear that Jesus is Yahweh and Yahweh is our redeemer and Father, why do people think there is three persons? People fail to see that Jesus was fully man while on earth and made statements to that effect such as “the Father is greater then I”. He was not the fullness of God on earth at that time.

We can make sense of the distinction of activity and consciousness between the Father and Son if we understand the person of Jesus to be conscious of Himself in two distinct ways: As God in His cosmic mode of existence, and as man in His human mode of existence. On this basis we can understand how he could function. On the one hand he could experience his divine nature causing and allowing Him to be conscious of Himself and act in a divine manner. But in His incarnate human side of existence, the one divine person functions according to His human nature, causing/allowing Him to be conscious of Himself as to who he was but continue to act in a human manner. He could experience divine consciousness simultaneously in his human form. He was totally human with a human spirit just like us. To be totally in human form he had to give up his Godness in form and function ie. He could not be in all places at the same time. Later in his Spirit form yes he can.

173. Questions we need to ask about the trinity 1. Trinitarians fail to answer key questions from those who believe differently. They fail to admit there might be other answers for the seeming divisions of the Godhead besides the three person theory, iethe pagan connection. 2. They fail to admit it is a later then early church formula, coming in to the church only in the forth century. In the fifth century bringing harsh punishment by military force because it was backed by the state church. 3. They do not want to admit that it might not be the only way of seeing the verses that raise questions. 4. They fail to see that Jesus as a man in human form was not fully Yahweh as God while in that form, in that he humbled himself and in so doing gave up some of his attributes. This was not a manifestation like the theophany's but truly Yahweh becoming man, and as such needed to pray etc. to continue communication with his other part of himself. 5. To make wild speculations to interpret the manifestations of Yahweh when they see a dove or hear of a voice from heaven fly’s in the face of the clear teaching of scripture that God is ONE. There is no hint that God is three any where in scripture. Failure to admit this shows weakness. 6. Most of all they do not want to admit that the unbiblical doctrine of the trinity is nonsense, doublespeak ,“he is three persons but really one god,’ which has caused the church ridicule, and properly so, from Jews, Muslims, and intelligent people who read the bible everywhere.

174. Nonsense phrases that have no meaning do not help us The trinity of God in three persons who is really one God is like saying. ‘Can God make a four legged tripod?” or ‘Can God make a rock so big he can’t move it?’ Speaking nonsense is not any different when you come to the trinity.

175. Wild speculations are not sound biblical interpretation When Balaam’s donkey spoke it was a miracle, and act of God to get Balaam’s attention. We would not jump to the conclusion that because speaking is a sign of personhood that all of a sudden Balaam’s donkey had become a person.

176. The history of the trinity in pagan cultures. It is easy to show that the trinity of ‘three persons as god’ is very old. In reality all pagan religions of the world, Hinduism, Egyptian, Islam and Catholic all trace their origins to Babylon the mother of all mystery religions that are pagan.

Surely then, you are seeking His image as a servant, that of the flesh which He assumed for our sake. ... How can one paint an image so unattainable and wonderful ... unless, as so the unbelieving pagans, one is to represent things that have no possible resemblance to anything ... ? For they [the pagans] make such idols when they wish to form the likeness of what they think to be a god or, as they might say, one of the heroes or anything else of like nature, yet they are unable even to approach a likeness, and accurately represent some strange human forms. There was no concept at the time of a New Testament scripture. He was not saying ‘my words are now scripture’. He was referring obviously to one thing. The Jewish Scriptures we call the Old Testament. From this we can tell that we interpret the New Testament from the Old Testament. The whole foundation of the New covenant is the old testament scriptures. Biblical scholars agree against the wishes of Walter Martin that this is true.

It is not hard to understand that his words were both unclear at times by his own admission and continually phased in his human experience form as a man. Understanding this gives no reason for us to discuss why he prayed to the Father. Was he the Father? He said yes. The Old Testament says yes. So whatever view of the trinity you have don’t believe the triangle that says ‘NO or NOT’ in the place of was he the Father. God is a trinity in One person. They cannot be three persons or that would imply three personalities, three wills, three minds and three desires. This is not in any text of scripture. (see power point #1 for further discussion if you have not done so.) ‘Trinity’ as a word is not in the bible along with three persons, first person, second person or third person.

188. Yahweh is first and last and so is Yahshua Jesus. They are one and the same person Walter Martin states clearly thatYahweh is the Father. I think we all agree with that who are Christians. He than says Jesus is Yahweh also. Again no disagreement. He uses Jh.8:57-58 which I would use along with 8:23-24. (He uses Rev.1:8 and 22:12-13 showing nicely that This is Yahweh and Yahshua Jesus as the same person. Rev.1:17-18 it is Yahweh as Yahshua, Jesus speaking as first and last. If that is so, how can there be a first person, a second person and a third person all separate? Isaiah 44: 6"Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, Yahweh of armies: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.

189. The Holy Spirit is not a separate person or is he ever prayed to as such. Acts 5:3,4 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? To make this simple statement into a proof text for the Holy Spirit being a separate person seems incredible to believe. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of Yahweh. Zech.4:6Then he said to me, "This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power,but by My Spirit,' says Yahweh of armies. Yahweh has a spirit for he is a triune being like us, but in one person. (cf.Isa.63:10 sounds like a similar situation to the Acts one)

190. Illustrations of the trinity Often the illustration of the egg is what is seen as a good illustration of three in one. My only comment of to this, is this a biblical illustration? The answer is no! It means nothing as far as God’s word is concerned. It is not even hinted at in the bible.

191. What is a biblical illustration by Yahweh God himself? Jeremiah 23:5 "Behold, the days are coming," declares Yahweh, "When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land. As a branch Yahshua Jesus, is part of the tree not the whole tree but certainly not separate from the tree.

192. Yahshua Jesus is called the ‘Arm’ of God Isaiah 53 1Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed? 2For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. 3He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. It is obvious the same way that the arm is not a separate person but is not the whole person.

193. Yahshua Jesus is the Messenger Mal.3:1"Behold, I am going to sendMy messenger, (John the Baptist )and he will clear the way before Me And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming," says Yahweh of armies.

194. One of the most powerful verses in the Bible on Jesus being Yahweh I = Yahweh My Messenger= John the Baptist He= John the Baptist Me= Yahweh the Lord= (H113 Strong's adon. His temple= the temple of Yahweh It could refer to bodily temple the messenger of the covenant= Yahweh as Yahshua Jesus He= Yahweh as Yahshua

195. Yahshua is called the servant of Yahweh… Isaiah 42:1 The Servant of Yahweh “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.

196. Since Yahweh is our redeemer how is he a separate person? Isaiah 44:24 “This is what Yahwehsays— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am Yahweh, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself,

197. If Jesus Yahshua is Yahweh as all would agree then this verse is also clear Yahweh is our Father. Jesus is the Father also Isaiah 63:16 But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, Yahweh, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name. The Old Testament is the foundation for the New. If this is clear then we must not see something incorrectly in the NT. They agree even if we don’t see it.

198. There is only one God on the throne not three Rev.7:15"For this reason, they are before the throne of Yahweh God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. 16"They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; 17for theLamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and Yahweh God will wipe every tear from their eyes.“ Rev.4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and Onesitting on the throne.

199. So where oh where is the three persons everyone talks about? Eph.4:5…one Lord,(Yahweh God) one faith, one baptism, James 2:19You believe that God is one You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. Deut.6:4"Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one! Isa.45:18 "I am Yahweh, and there is none else.

200. Proof positive Yahweh and his son Yahshua Jesus are one and the same person Isa. 43:11"I, even I, am Yahweh, And there is no savior besides Me. 2 Peter 3:18…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We know there are too many verses tell us Jesus is our saviour.

201. One what Jesus? John 10: 30"I and the Father are one." I find it tempting to put the word ‘person’ after this as it appears in the English grammar as to what is called an ellipsis. Grammar . ‘the omission from a sentence or other construction of one or more words that would complete or clarify the construction, as the omission of who are, while I am, or while we are from.‘ This is called an ellipsis.

202. Yahweh came himself to earth in the person of Jesus. They are one 2 Cor.5:19…namely, that God(and who is our great God but Yahweh himself?) was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, Remember Immanuel means God with us…. Isa.7:15 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
